Appointments of a Deputy Chairperson And Three Commissioners To The Seychelles Human Rights Commission

Applications are invited from persons who are qualified under Sections 5 and 6 of the Seychelles Human Rights Commission Act 7 of 2018 and Section 2 the Miscellaneous Amendments Act 2023(Act 22), for appointments as Deputy Chairperson and the positions of Commissioners.

The powers and functions of the Seychelles Human Rights Commission are stipulated in

Section 14 of the Seychelles Human Rights Commission Act.

A person is qualified for appointment as Deputy Chairperson or Commissioner if the Constitutional Appointments Authority is of the opinion that the person possesses demonstrated competence and experience and can effectively discharge the functions of the office of Deputy Chairperson or Commissioner.

The salary and allowances of the Deputy Chairperson and the Commissioners shall be such as prescribed under S.I 45 of 2019. The Deputy Chairperson and the Commissioners shall hold office for a term of 5 years and shall be eligible for reappointment.
