Mumtaz Hasan has been re-appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner. She was yesterday presented with her Instrument of Appointment by President Wavel Ramkalawan.

The President of the Republic, also presented 2 new members of the Information Commission; Mr. Egbert Rosalie and Mr. Peter Lalande with their Instrument of Appointment during the same ceremony.

The Chief Information Commissioner and two members of the Information Commission have been appointed from candidates proposed by the Constitutional Appointments Authority (CAA) and in consultation with the Speaker of the National Assembly as prescribed under Section 37 (1) of the Access to Information Act.
