The Access to Information Act 4 of 2018, came into force in July 2018.

Under this Act, each Ministry, government affiliated bodies , Constitutional bodies ,has to appoint an Information Officer, thereafter, whose name is gazetted. Mr Iqbal Ebrahim, Executive Secretary of the Constitutional Appointments Authority has been appointed Information Officer.
